Long Shaw East and West

This oddly shaped piece of woodland, sandwiched between fields, stretches from the motorway to the tube line, but with quiet areas in between. Seems to be an ancient woodland remnant judging by the tree species found here. A nice change to see only native field maples with no sycamore or Norway maple. Also a good specimen of a wild service tree and some interestingly shaped hornbeams.
