This case study looks at the benefits of agroforestry for timber, biodiversity, coppice and nut production.
Maple Farm is a 138-hectare organic farm of fields and hedges. The farm has planted trees in three large fields, and aims to:
- improve low soil fertility
- generate new sources of income
- increase biodiversity
- increase production of wood resource
- explore diversification through wood fuel and nuts (hazel).
