Restoring ancient woodland case study, 2016

This case study explores how a strong local community living around Aigas Woods near Inverness bought the site with a view to restoring and managing it.

The woods are a relic of a once dense, much larger, pine forest. In 2009, the community began a six-year process to acquire the site, and in March 2015 finally succeeded.
