Beesley Green provides a very attractive introduction to the Southern section of the woods. Wide paths follow Kempnough Brook through the lowland mixed deciduous SBI woodland , with Beech, Lime, Sycamore, Birch, Alder and Oak. There is an abundance of wild garlic on the banks and many other wild flowers and wildlife make this a great place to visit. The extensive path network allows full exploration of the woods, Old Warke Dam and the wetland areas; possibly returning by way of the loop line.
