Snelsmore SSSI is a complex mosaic of heathland, valley mires as well as various woodland habitats. Withy Copse, on the western edge, is one of the older woodland habitats with a wide range of native trees and a diverse shrub layer and woodland flora. Subsequently it is alive with wildlife.
