This small secondary woodland dominated with Ash and sycamore is not a high priority on this site, but rarer hoverfly species have been found in the clearing. Most are dead wood and rot hole specialists, while others rely on sap runs and arboreal aphids; notable species include Mallota cimbiciformis, Criorhina ranunculi, Criorhina floccosa, Eriozona erratica and Ferdinandea cuprea. The small clearing, which is the only walk in this woodland, is also good for butterflies and wood boring beetle.
