Stonebridge Meadows

A secluded nature reserve on the edge of busy/urban Coventry. There are three small pockets of wet alder woodland within a meadow rich in colour in the spring/summer. The woods nearer the river can be flooded after heavy/prolonged rain ' but as wet woodlands they're meant to be and flooding is a necessity to help ensure long-term survival of such woodlands! Wildlife is usually plentiful and in spring the kingcups put on a spectacular display of gold.
