Much lauded for its bluebell and ramson (wild garlic) displays, this semi-natural ancient woodland is one of the best examples in Lancashire and has Biological Heritage status. There is an access for all route, one leading to the centre of the wood, suitable for buggies and trampers, and a steeper path, climbing to the summit via the arboretum. Highly recommended for woodland enthusiasts or those who just enjoy listening to Warblers, Jays and Chiffchaffs whilst eating ice cream and watching squirrels feeding.
