Shillingford Wood is a quiet, tranquil place only a short distance from Exeter. It's very welcoming, with small information maps at both entrances to the wood, and 'Woodland Walk' signs posted along the the track route that runs the length of the wood. There are views through the trees across the valley to the small village of Shillingford St George with its parish church just visible on the opposite slope. There's no parking at the wood but there are a number of possible places nearby.
