Shaw Wood

An attractive mixed wood along Shaw Brook, a tributary of the River Lostock, on the southern edge of Worden Park, a large area of parkland on the outskirts of Leyland, close to the town centre. The wood comprises established oak, beech, ash, hazel and holly. Paths are clear, although muddy in parts, and Shaw Brook is liable to overflow after heavy rain; boots/wellies recommended. Popular with dog walkers, there is a dog washing shower next to the car park, and Shaw Brook is safe for dogs to swim
