Rainton Glen

Rainton Glen can be accessed from the beginning of the nature trails at the Cream o Galloway organic farm and ice cream factory. For this section of the nature trails you must cross farm land to access the ancient wood, so dogs must be on a lead. The glen comprises coppiced hazel, birch and ash and many ancient oak. If you are lucky, you may spy a red squirrel. Once you leave the glen, you cross farm land before passing through a gate leading to the farthest nature trail lochan.
