Porter Valley Woodlands

These engaging woods follow the path of the Porter Brook running from the edge of the Peak Park and down in to the city. The brook still shows signs of an industrial past in its restored dams, wheel houses and weirs along the way. Parking is available at several places but nothing is more satisfying than a stroll (ride) up from Endcliffe Park, past Forge Dam (with its play area and Cafe) to the top of the clough; knowing it is all downhill on the way home. Footpaths & bridleways as waymarked.
