Park Wood & High Wood

A discreet entrance off Golf Club Lane leads into Park Wood where there is a choice of pathways. The wood has been woodland for at least 200 years according to historic maps. Now a Forestry Commission wood, it is not simply uniform plantation but has a variety of trees and woodland areas, rides and holloways and one can find streams and hidden ponds down some of the pathways. It is quiet and undisturbed and frequented as much by deer as by dog walkers.
