Orrell Woodland

A rather non-descript piece of woodland of limited interest. Access is at the end of Hall Lane (look for the Tennis Club sign) off Winstanley Road. There are no formal paths, simply 'desire paths' trodden by dog walkers and others. Some fly-tipping, much bramble and gorse, and relatively few mature trees. Bounded in the east by the M6 and in the north by the Wigan to Liverpool railway line, the incessant noise of traffic on the nearby motorway doesn't make this a great place to visit.
