Nutclough

A wooded gorge full of birdsong with stony and occasionally muddy paths winding their way alongside and above the stream which has been known to flood seriously. A lot of work is being done by volunteers and the local council to stabilise and improve this wood, evidence of coppicing and fence work all over. Parking is not easy and access for the disabled is not good. Popular with dog walkers but happily no legacy of their visit apparent.
