Nan Whins Wood

This makes for a great dog-walk; the path follows the beck along the bottom then rises to meet the bridlepath at the top from which you can either complete a short circular walk or go off towards Tong and extend your walk considerably; alternatively you can cross the beck and head off towards Tong and Tyersal that way (which takes you out of the woods). The paths have been remodelled recently and are now easy to walk and less muddy! The woods are near the site of the old Tong Lane Mine.
