Moredun Wood

Part of Burdiehouse Burn Valley Park, this woodland is a wild oasis just off a main route into the city. It can appear closed off from outside, by high walls and fences, but the two main entrances are a pedestrian gate on the corner of Ellen's Glen Road and Gilmerton Road, and a lane beside Morrisons supermarket. A very quiet space apart from a variety of birdsong and the rushing of the burn, this area is popular with local dog walkers. The paths are dirt tracks and can get very muddy.
