Mark Hill

This wood is accessed from Rockcliffe village, from the footpath past the Barons Craig Hotel. There is a good, well graded track with blue markers which climbs up and round the hill (of moderate difficulty), but in actively managed commercial forests. Mostly conifer with some native woodland, the 'Muckle Walk' in this wood has spectacular views of the Solway from the view point on the top of Mark Hill. This woodland walk can be combined with the adjacent woods at Rockcliffe.
