Mar Lodge Estate (1)

Located at Linn of Dee, the car park of this wood is the starting point for numerous walks into the central Cairngorms. This is a very cold place in Winter. If you are leaving your car here, make sure you are confident it will start when you return! Here the river passes through a dramatic 300 metre gorge and there are several spectacular waterfalls in the area. You have a good chance of seeing wildlife including red squirrels, otter and red deer. This list is far from exhaustive.
