Rodger's Longwood is predominantly a birch wood. It has been well managed. However, the wood has apparently changed hands a number of times. It is a Millennium Wood, but the visitor is met by a padlocked gate. Access is only possible by climbing the gate, so unsuitable for many people. Once inside there is a circular walk around the birch trees, interspersed with other species. Bracken on paths has been cleared. Views across the Solway are good in places. Fungi, lichens, birds are attractions.
