Lesmahagow South

Just a couple of miles outside Lesmahgow, on the road to Coalburn this is a large mixed woodland, including lovely ancient trees. Made up of several different compartments these woods have lots to offer. The part I visited had a small car park by the entrance. The foot path I took wound its way down to River Nethan, where I sat & had my lunch in the cool as it was a hot day. Lots of open meadows too with wildflowers including red campion & meadowsweet so great for butterflies. Very peaceful.
