Knowsley Expressway Woodlands

Over 24 hectares of woodland was planted along the embankments of Knowsley Expressway during its development in 1995/96. This major landscaping scheme has now formed a key wildlife corridor between Halewood and Huyton. Most of the woodland is not publicly accessible, though a diverse network of public rights of way (known locally as the Tarbock Trail) will take you through the surrounding countryside and through parts of the woodland.
