THE PARKS TRUST WOOD
Believed to be the woodland mentioned in the Domesday Survey of 1086. Parts of it may be rare surviving fragments of the 'wildwood' that covered the whole of lowland Britain after the last Ice Age. Supports a wide range of flora and fauna including many butterflies, birds and plant species. Managed in a traditional way to continue to provide a good continuing habitat.
