Home Covert

Home Covert is a small woodland walkway that was originally planted 200 years ago for shooting. Despite its small size, the site is rich with a variety of fungi, mosses and small mammals and during Spring you'll be able to hear the beautiful song of the blackcap that nests here every year. One of the fascinating things about this site is that you can see craters left by a Flying Fortress aircraft that crashed here after taking off from a nearby airfield in 1945.
