Hangmans Wood

Hangman's Wood is a triangular wooded area of Little Thurrock, mostly made up of oak, ash, sycamore and wild cherry. The wood contains a number of deneholes - they are the most important underground hibernation sites for bats in Essex, causing the wood to be a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest.
