Hallyards Castle

This wood is on the outskirts of Kirkliston and in actually fact at the back of one of the runways at Edinburgh Airport. It is not possible to enter the woods by the water treatments works on the Lochend Road. So instead I accessed the woods in Hallyards Road. There is some off road parking in the lane and then it is a short walk to the woods. The woods comprise of a good mixture of trees but it looks as if it is not well used.It does mean however mean that it is a wildlife oasis.
