A 48.5ha site near Overseal, this is an unusual National Forest scheme in that it is the only one with its own microlight landing strip. The woodland is spread over 4 large fields and is very visible from the surrounding roads. The pond on the site formed as a result of mining subsidence and the adjacent grassland is being managed as a hay meadow to create a buffer strip to the stream. The existing spinney has been thinned and bat boxes installed in the trees as roosting and nesting habitat.
