Grove Lane Plantation used to be the site of a number of coal mines ' today, the plantation is quiet and peaceful. The plantation is managed by the Forest of Burnley and is mostly mature mixed woodland, with beech, sycamore, ash and oak trees, and is the perfect haven for wildlife such as woodpeckers, roe deer, weasel, stoat, hare and even watervole. Look out for the wooden sculptures, which are part of the Trail of Words project.
