Graveleythorpe

Primrose Valley LNR is the site of the former Killingbeck Colliery and small quarries. It was used as a landfill site and was reclaimed in the 1980s. Today it features ponds - home to frogs, newts and bird species such as kingfishers and water rails, plantations - a good habitat for songbirds such as goldfinch and chiffchaff, and great views of the Wyke Beck Valley all the way up to Roundhay Park.
