Grange Valley local nature reserve adjoins Grange Park and provides habitat for a variety of wildlife - including birds such as whitethroats, sparrowhawks and kestrels, and small mammals such as field mice, bank voles, hedgehogs and shrews. The meadow flowers also attract many varieties of butterfly. The health trails around Grange Valley have tarmac surfaced paths for gentle walking along the flat although they are a bit more strenuous up the hills.
