Goseley Dale

A 6.1ha site on the edge of Goseley estate, Woodville, this Tender Scheme winner from 1998 provides access for local residents from both Woodville and Hartshorne. Formerly used as pony paddocks, the site is now very much a Wood on the Doorstep. It is very informal and links to the Public Rights of Way network. Planted species are mainly oak and ash and the willows and alders by the streamside have been pollarded to improve their condition. Two small ponds have been created for wildlife.
