Garrowgill is a coniferous wood of mixed ages of trees sited up on a hill overlooking the Moffat Water, thus affording splendid views across the Moffat Hills. The Southern Upland Way long-distance path runs eastwards through the wood towards the hills to the upper Ettrick Valley. All other FC Moffat woods in the area are within sight and easy distance. Entrance is only on foot as there is no permitted vehicular access. The track is quite steep in places, but worth the trek.
