Finglandrigg Wood is one of the largest areas of semi-natural woodland on the Solway Plain, carved out during the ice age, forming a combination of woodland, peat bog, heathland and rough pasture, carefully managed by grazing and mowing. Wildlife is plentiful from red squirrel and roe deer to the more difficult to spot badger and otters, with over 40 species of breeding birds you're sure to glimpse something interesting!
