This large (three hectare) mainly broad-leaved Ancient Woodland is an important local nature reserve and wildlife site that features a host of relatively scarce creatures including glow worms, stag beetles, large red damselflies and broad-bodied chasers. The trees, which include a fully grown Wellingtonia, are rich in bird life such as bullfinches, while bluebells, dog violets and wood anemones provide spring colour. Access and parking is in Tippits Mead
