Dunnet Forest Recreation 1

Off the A836 just outside Castlehill. Plenty of parking. Good views overlooking the bay and sea. Foot paths through, some are grassy and others are shingle. Waymarked throughout with some very interesting sculptures & good interpretation panels. Lots of benches and picnic tables. This small woods leads onto the larger Dunnet Forest Recreation 2 and is easily reached from here. Good site for birds, insects especially butterflies and dragonflies with some small wetland areas. Well worth a visit.
