This small forest is bounded by water on all sides, effectively creating an 'island'! Dundeugh Hill is a commercial plantation 8km north of Dalry, but has pockets of original oak and hazel forest along a pretty riverside walk. There is a low circular track and the option of climbing the 271m high hill. The area has associations with Robert the Bruce and is now the site of the Kendoon Hydro Dam. Shops, refreshments and toilets are available in the nearby towns of Dalry and Carsphairn.
