Druitt Gardens occupies approximately 1.20 hectares in the centre of Christchurch. Most of the site is wooded, and is best described as old amenity woodland with mature to old non-native trees. There are two open grassy areas, several paths and the Druitt Hall in the north of the area. The gardens provide suitable habitat for a good range of birds, particularly those associated with garden, parkland and woodland habitats.
