Despite the name, Domesday Copse is an 'ancient woodland' of the distant future as it only dates back to 1989. What was then just an area of short cut grass was planted to develop an urban copse and hedgerow. Cowslips were planted along the banks of neighbouring Mill Lane in 1997. Despite its young age, Domesday Copse is already home to a diverse mix of native bird species. Best access is via the car park adjacent to the football pavilion in Wildridings Road.
