This area was the first tract of land bought by the National Trust, back in 1904 to prevent a large housing development. It comprises 108 acres of pasture and woodland at the bottom of Catbells. It is a delightful mixture of woodland, grass fields and wet land providing an excellent habitat for the local wildlife.
