Routin Bridge and the surrounding woodland is a stunning wood at various times of the year. Trees are mature to younger, and mostly broadleaved. There is a diversity of habitats. The Old Water cuts its way through the bedrock and tumbles under the Routin Brig to become a major feature than can be seen from the road bridge above, or from the footpaths near to the river. We walked around the top end of the wood and down by the waterfall. Well worth coming back to this wood at any time of year.
