Cockshott Wood

Mixed woodland off Duddle Lane with mainly Oak, Birch, Sycamore, Beech, Ash, Hawthorn and Holly running the course of Cockshott Brook which runs into the River Darwen. The wood is in a steep-sided valley (or clough) and runs both sides of Duddle Lane joining Dog Kennel Wood in the north. The paths, steps, fencing and bridges need some improvement, and the footpaths are slippy in wet weather. Used mainly by local residents, dog walkers and young people for recreation.
