The Clints of Dromore refer to a series of south facing granite slabs which overlook the wood and can be seen from the car park. This is largely a coniferous wood and has the added interest of a small loch and many babbling burns that follow the path. The drive here is beautiful following national cycle route 7 and the wood itself lies between Creetown and Gatehouse of Fleet - delightful small towns with cafes and shops. Although there are no way markers, the forest trail is easy to follow.
