Castlehill

Situated 5 miles outside Thurso on A836. Turn off main road for signs to Heritage Centre. Wood is on left hand side with 2 entrances. Parking opposite centre. Mixed woodland with grassy paths throughout. Interesting sculptures on site. Benches and picnic tables on site. Good for wildlife, saw lots of butterflies, dragonflies as well as birds on my visit. Great views looking across the bay and the sea. Lots of wildflowers on site too. Well used by locals and well worth a visit.
