Castle Eden Walkway

This walkway is an old railway line which stretches from Thorpe Thewles to Castle Eden and is good walking and cycling. The adjacent Thorp Wood provides an interesting diversion and opportunities for circular walks with magnificent vies over Tees Valley towards Roseberry Topping - a local landmark. In the snow this pathway is magic. There are some steep steps leading into Thorp Wood and a pond at the bottom.
