Burnden Clough

Connecting with Raikes Clough and providing a route through towards Bolton, the wood covers the slopes of the River Croal and, although not a destination in its own right, visitors can be rewarded by surprises such as early Crocuses which provide a sudden patch of colour on a bleak late winter's day; helping us to appreciate the interest that these rather rare patches of urban woodland can bring.
