The Hall was once owned by the Boleyn family and has a mixture of formal and informal gardens as well as the adjoining woods. There are several waymarked trails through the woods of different lengths and difficulty. There are some very ancient oak and beech trees in the woods and they are a great place for spotting birds and other wildlife. The wood is particularly beautiful in the spring when it is carpeted with bluebells.
