SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGH COUNCIL WOOD
Comprises two areas of semi-natural woodland that follow the course of two brooks, converging to the west. Dominated by Oak and Beech, with occasional Sycamore, Rowan and Wych Elm, the under-storey comprises dense Rhododendron with occasional Hawthorn and Elder. Two ponds in the woods are reportedly home to Great Crested Newts.
