A former wartime hospital site now a wooded area with waymarked paths, this wood is off the beaten track, but still close to Plymouth. Mature beech trees, but with laurel and rhododendron understorey, currently well managed with good fungi and lots of young trees. Close to the now world famous Dartmoor Zoo.
