Originally part of a large woodland area, this ancient hazel and ash coppice puts on a stunning display of bluebells and wood anemones in earl spring. Rotational coppicing and mown tracks create open areas encouraging butterflies & wild flowers. There is an excellent variety of woodland birds & flowers, with orpine and early purple orchid along the tracks and great spotted woodpecker nests overhead. Silver-washing fritillary & speckled wood butterflies can be seen in the cleared glades
