Bringing neglected woodland into management, 2015 case study

This case study examines a remarkable labour of love. Retirees Peter and Brenda Tebby have been restoring 44-acres of their own neglected ancient woodland at Reffolds copse in Surrey.

Their restoration project has been quite an adventure. The couple have restored shady conifer plantations to vibrant and colourful native broadleaf woodland, full of wildlife, while also creating an inexhaustible supply of woodfuel.
